Spring Is In the Air!!

Dear 146Q Families,

In the month of March we have had snow, rain, wind and sun. We are looking forward to more sunny days ahead in order for all of us to be able to enjoy the outdoors and get some much needed fresh air.

Our students are working hard as we continue to engage in were immersed in social emotional learning and activities. Our Brain Power Lead, Cathy Martinez, has been doing class workshops with our students. She has been focusing on the benefits of brain breaks and how they can help us to manage our focus energy and emotions. She is also providing  supportive teacher workshops. This work will continue throughout the school year across content areas to ensure that teachers and all staff members are connecting with students on a personal level.

A shout out to Ms. J for connecting us to the RAPPS program for our grade 8 students. We will be implementing this program through the end of the school year. The RAPPS program centers around Relationship abuse prevention.

Topics we will cover are as follows:
Teen Relationship Abuse
Sexual Harassment
Healthy Relationships

We have had some informative feedback on student and parent surveys around our CRSE book of the month as well as on our monthly themes. This month's theme of responsibility was based on your feedback!! Thank you for continuing to share good ideas to enhance our school community. Please continue to check the calendar on the website as well as on Parent Square to stay in know of what's happening at our school.
If you have any additional ideas we would love to hear them!

On behalf of the administration and the entire 146 staff, we look forward to our continued positive partnership with our families!

Ms. Keegan
